Ceylon Black Tea
RT-00052
Hồng trà Ceylon nước đỏ nâu, vị mạnh — nền trà sữa & trà trái cây cổ điển.
Ceylon black tea — a strong flavor base for the classic milk tea.
Ceylon is the old name for Sri Lanka — a highland region renowned worldwide for its black tea. WECHA chose this Ceylon black tea for its beautiful reddish-brown liquor and its distinctive strong flavor, the kind of base flavor that so many delicious milk teas and fruit teas rely on. It's a rustic tea, yet it has real backbone — robust and full-bodied when drunk hot, and even more rounded when blended into other drinks.
A clear reddish-brown liquor with a glossy body. A warm aroma with hints of malt and wood; the taste is strong, full-bodied, with a decisive astringency that stands up to milk and ice very well. The finish is clean and crisp, leaving the mouth refreshed.

Nutrition
The brewed tea has virtually no calories when made without added sugar or milk. Black tea contains natural caffeine (which contributes to a mild alertness) along with theaflavins and polyphenols — the antioxidant compounds characteristic of black tea. Detailed figures depend on how it is prepared (amount of tea, and any sugar and milk added).

How to brew at home
Water temp
95-100°C — fully boiling water, the proper temperature for black tea
Tea : water ratio
3-4g of tea per about 250ml of water (roughly 1 heaping teaspoon)
Steep time
Served hot: steep 3-5 minutes. For milk tea / fruit tea: steep strong for 5-7 minutes, then dilute
Tip: Quickly rinse the tea with a little boiling water and pour it off before steeping — the brew comes out cleaner and more fragrant. Don't over-steep or the tea turns bitter; timing it right gives the most balanced flavor.
