Ratio
About 2–3g of black tea per 200ml of water. For milk tea/fruit tea preparation, you can increase the amount of tea for a more concentrated tea base.
Time
Steep for 3–5 minutes. Steep longer for a bolder, more pronounced astringency; shorten the time if you prefer a milder tea.
Tip
Always use fully boiling water, as black tea needs high heat to release its full aroma. Rinse the teapot with hot water before steeping to keep the temperature stable, which helps the tea develop a beautiful red color and a more intense aroma.
